Well for me, probably being the owner of Pole Physique. I’m so proud to have a super successful studio full of empowerment and encouragement!

Why did you start pole?
I was asked by a friend if I would go to a class with them. It was something that was massively out my comfort zone. At the time I was going through a phase of saying yes to as much as I could. In my first class I did a chopper by accident and the teacher said " you are going to be good at this". I've been hooked ever sinceHow long have you been doing pole/teaching pole?
Almost 9 years. What is your favourite pole style?
Tricks are my thing. Even when I'm dancing, I like to add in sexy tricks and kips that make my routines more dramaticWhat do you say most often in class?
"That looks doable" followed by "nooo that's impossible"When you’re not doing pole what do you get up to?
I work as a Molecular biologist for a bioscience company. I also nude model for life drawing classes. When Im not working I am either out with friends at gigs or trying to squeeze in as much sleep as I canWhat is your favourite pole move?
I have a load of favourite big moves such as Satellite and birds of paradise but my absolute favourite has to be an OG Russian layback.Do you have any favourite things about Pole Physique?
The way it becomes more of a social club rather than just a Pole studio. Along with the Pole classes, I love the social events put on by the studio. Plus the students are so awesome and supportiveWhat is your biggest pole achievement?
The self love that pole has given me is easily my biggest achievement. I used to be so self conscious and awkward about my body. In my first class I was so embarrassed that my legs would be on show. Now I can barely keep my clothes on. I've also gained so much strength and flexibility in the last 9 years, it's hard to not say that it's all my greatest achievement

Why did you start pole?
I saw a music video (Guilt by Nero) with a pole dancer in it when I was 16 and I was absolutely awestruck. It ignited a fire in me and I knew I had to try it. I wanted to be strong, empowered and sexy.
How long have you been doing pole/teaching pole?
I’ve been at Pole Physique for over 10 and a half years, starting when I was 17. I would have started sooner if any of my friends wanted to / were allowed to come with me (we were still in school when I decided I wanted to go!) Eventually I bit the bullet and went to my first class, alone and absolutely terrified. It was the best thing I ever did.
What is your favourite pole style?
My favourite pole style is sexy, gooey flow. Anything that makes me feel like a goddess!
What do you say most often in class?
Is that legal!? (Usually when being shown that the thing I’m trying to do is much easier than I thought and I’m the one making it difficult)
When you’re not doing pole what do you get up to?
When I’m not at pole, I’m usually at the gym, doing crafts (knitting is my fav) or at some pub somewhere doing karaoke (badly!).I
What is your favourite pole move?
Marchetti, if I ever do a routine without it, I’ll eat my Pleaser!
Do you have any favourite things about Pole Physique?
My favourite thing about Pole Physique is, and always has been, the sense of community and the support you get from instructors / other students. I always leave with a smile on my face no matter what kind of day I’ve had.
What is your biggest pole achievement?
I’d say my biggest pole achievement was getting into the final of Pole Theatre UK in 2019. I entered the Advanced/Instructor category and with only 4 people getting through I thought I had no chance! In the end, a rogue flap caused it all to go wrong on the day but I still consider the fact I made it to the stage a massive achievement in itself. Tape yourselves in!!

Why did you start pole?
I’d always admired it and thought it was sexy, so I started. I was right!
How long have you been doing pole/teaching pole?
I started pole at the end of 2018 after joining a pole dance society at university. I started teaching within the society about a year later. I’d say I didn’t start ‘dancing’ Pole until late 2021. Now, it’s mostly all I do. I’ve been teaching choreography at Pole Physique for a little over a year now, after completing my Level 3+4 X-Training certification in 2024.
What is your favourite pole style?
Stripper style.
What do you say most often in class?
‘Breathe’.
When you’re not doing pole what do you get up to?
Yoga, or teaching yoga. Running, practising handstands at the gym. Reading! Basically just whizzing around doing a million different things.
What is your favourite pole move?
Honestly, walking. There’s so much you can do with a walk. I love playing with tempo when I walk.
Do you have any favourite things about Pole Physique?
The space is absolutely beautiful, I just love dancing and teaching here. And the LIGHTS!
What is your biggest pole achievement?
Every week after I finish teaching my classes, I feel like I’ve achieved something huge, to be fair. But if I have to pick something, maybe winning YFF.
