Part 6: Templeton on the Green
A Blank Canvas
When Pole Physique first opened at Templeton on the Green, the space was a much larger open studio space. This meant much taller poles, over 14 feet to be precise!
With eight poles, the classes grew bigger and busier. Incredible events were even hosted, like The Pole Intensive Weekend, where participants could learn from not only the instructors of the Pole Physique studio at the time but also some big names in the pole community too.
Only two or three classes ran each night from Monday to Thursday. Most classes were curriculum-based, building students from one level to the next. Check out the class description from the curriculum level 2 & 3 class back in 2019.
“Exactly what it says on the tin. For advanced-expert level students. This class focuses on tricks from our extensive curriculum with the end goal to have your own personalised routine containing all of your tricks, transitions, and combos. This is a tough class, no doubt about it, but it is the most comprehensive way of building and mastering advanced-expert level pole techniques and knowledge. With 50 tricks in each curriculum level, you will be required to master three full routines in order to graduate to the next level. Level 3 has NEVER been graduated yet… will you be the first??”
And this might shock you if you didn't pole pre-COVID times, but… every class was set between 10-14peeps, so yes, two per pole!! Your current peeps don’t know how lucky you have it!
The space was a bit of an adjustment for some students that were used to the boutique and cosy vibes at the Argyle st studio, but the industrial-style unit was a blank canvas that was full of potential.
This move set the stage for the next chapter.
